Exam Pattern:-

As per latest notifications by SSC, SSC CGL exam now has four level of exams.

  • Tier-1: Written examination (objective type)
  • Tier-2: Written examination (objective type)
  • Tier-3: Written examination (descriptive type)
  • Tier: Computer test/ Skill test (wherever applicable)

Exam pattern- Tier-1

  • There is a negative marks of of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer.

Exam pattern- Tier-2

Tier-2 में भाग लेने वाले अभ्यर्थियों के लिए paper-1 और paper-2 की परीक्षा देना आवश्यक (Compulsory)  है|

यदि कोई अभ्यर्थी statistical investigator, compiler post के लिए apply किया है तो उनके लिए paper-3 देना भी अनिवार्य है और यदि कोई अभ्यर्थी Asst audit officer Gazetted Group B के लिए apply किया है तो उन अभ्यर्थियों के लिए paper-4 अनिवार्य है|

Descriptive paper in English/Hindi (Writing of essay,Precis, Application etc) 100 60 Minutes (For VH candidates suffering from cerebral Palsy: 80 minutes)

दोस्तों यहां पर हम आपको यह बता दें कि Tier-3 आप अंग्रेजी या हिंदी माध्यम से दे सकते हैं इसमें आपको अंग्रेजी या हिंदी में से किसी एक ही माध्यम में Exam देना होगा|

दोस्तों Tier-4 ऐसे अभ्यर्थियों के लिए है जिन्होंने Assistant Section Officer in CSS & MEA के लिए apply किया होगा|

General Intelligence and reasoning

This section is based on questions series (number, figurative), similarities and differences, analogy, space visualization. Spatial orientation, problem solving, analysis, judgement. Discussion marking, visual memory, discrimination, observation. Direction sense test, blood relations, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification.

Mathematics number series, non verbal series, coding and decoding. Statement conclusion, syllogism in reasoning etc. The topic are semantic analogy, symbolic/number analogy. Figural analogy, ranking test, semantic classification, symbolic/ number classification. Figural classification, input output questions, problem solving, word building, sitting arrangement, numerical operations, symbolic operations, questions on dies, clock, calendar.

Trends, space orientation, space visualization, Venn diagrams. Drawing inferences, folding and unfolding of punched hole/ pattern. Figural pattern- folding and completion, indexing, address matching. Date and city matching, classification of centre codes/ roll number. Small and capital letters/ number coding, decoding and classification. Embedded figures, critical thinking. Emotional intelligence, social intelligence etc.

English Language

Question on fill in the blanks, Idiom and Phrases, Jumbled Sentence (ordering), one word substitution. Synonym, antonym, spellings/ detecting mis-spelt words, common errors, sentence improvement, passage, cloze test are asked.

Quantitative aptitude

This section is based on percentage. Ratio and proportion. Square and cube root. Surds and indices. LCM and HCF. Averages. Age problem. Simple interest and compound interest. Profit and loss. Discount. Partnership. Mixture and elevation. Time and distance. Time and work. Boat and stream. Pipe and cisterns. Number. Algebra. Geometry. Trigonometry. Height and distance.

Division and reminders. Decimals. Fractions and relationship between number. Graph of linear equation. Triangles (centers, congruence, similarity). Encircle and circum-circle. Triangle, Quadrilaterals, regular polygon, circle, right prism, right circular cone, right circular cylinder, sphere, Hemisphere, Rectangular Parallelopiped.

Regular right pyramid with triangular for a square based, trigonometric ratio, degree and radian measure, circle and its chords. Tangents, angle sabtendent by chords offer circle. Common tangents to two you are more circle, standard identities. Complementary angles, height and distance, histogram, frequency polygon, bar diagram and Pie chart.

General awareness

General awareness will have question on current events, it india and its neighbouring countries. Also questions from history, Geography, economic sense, culture, general policy and scientific research are asked. Scientific research in CRO physics chemistry and Biology. Current affairs of last six month asked.

Important instruction for candidate

  • Following instruction should be kept in mind while preparation for SSC CGL.
  1. Candidates should practice mock test to get an idea of the computer best exam for for Tier 1 and Tier 2. Online tests for the same must be attempted.
  2. Mock test are available on the official website of SSC as well as the regional office website.
  3. Time Management is very important.
  4. Be careful of negative marking. Answer only those question which you are aa sure of.
